SECTOR FEEDBACK: consultation on future revisions of TSI

SECTOR FEEDBACK: consultation on future revisions of TSI
The European Commission (DG MOVE) has requested contributions to its consultation on future revisions of the Technical Specifications for Interoperability.

UIP and rail sector stakeholders AERRL, ALLRAIL, CER, EAL, EIM, FEDECRAIL, NB-Rail, UIRR, UITP and UNIFE have jointly submitted a letter on 16 May that outlines its feedback and recommendations.

The sector stakeholders question in particular whether the ambition presented in the draft is deliverable in the timescale proposed (the majority of items is intended for delivery by 2027) notably given the return of experience of the last revision, resources available and required ERJU or standardisation inputs. They also question the benefit and impact of such an extensive TSI update in quick succession of the 2023 TSI Revision Package.

The letter proposes to focus short-term efforts on the top priorities identified within the document and the smooth transfer of outputs from the ERJU SP to the TSIs.
