Joint sector paper: rail associations support CZ initiative on rail freight

The Minister of Transport of the Czech Republic, Mr Ivan Bednárik has initiated a call for more action on rail freight.

In a non-paper he highlights the need to ensure rail freight’s competitiveness, notably by implementing recently adopted legislation and through additional actions that go beyond the current framework.

Czechia is spearheading this initiative together with Austria, Slovakia and Belgium and is aiming to convince the other EU transport ministers to follow suit.

UIP and the rail associations AERRL, CER, ERFA, UIRR and UNIFE welcome very much this political signal and have signed a joint sector paper to support this initiative, which you can find to the right of this page.
