Joint letter to the European Institutions on the need for a sufficient ERA budget

In a joint letter of the sector, UIP addresses the European Institutions on the subject of the decision to cut the European Railway Agency’s (ERA) operational budget significantly. An underfunded and understaffed agency will become a bottleneck for crucial vehicle authorizations and seek to recover its costs by increased fees and charges to applicants. The sector loudly objects to bearing the brunt for this decision that will shift the problem on the sector’s back and consequently put its future at risk.
