To bring the DAC to market, many aspects are addressed in projects that are closely aligned, including technology, migration, funding. The DACFIT project is one of those that supports the European DAC delivery programme (EDDP) in deploying and integrating DAC into rail systems across Europe.
DACFIT is the name of the project started on 15 October 2024 with a consortium of 7 partners from 5 European countries.
Co-funded by Europe’s Rail and for a period of 24 months, the experts have the task of jointly developing strategies, tools, and standards that support the implementation plans of the DAC migration roadmap. This includes technical validation and simulation models to analysis of workshop infrastructure.
In addition to the VPI service company VERS, the consortium includes VÚKV Prague, K+V Ingenieurgesellschaft, BME ITS at the Technical University of Budapest, Instytut Kolejnictwa in Warsaw, and Fraunhofer IML, as well as DB Cargo, which is leading the project as consortium leader and ensuring that the end result is a comprehensive picture: the European DAC Migration Roadmap.
