The prime objective of the European Commission (DG MOVE) and the European Union Agency for Railways (ERA) in the area of rail is the establishment of a well-functioning Single European Railway Area within the EU. To complement and contribute to this, DG MOVE and the Agency jointly maintain relations with several international organisations and third countries in the area of rail transport, within the framework of, and consistent with, EU external action and policy priorities. This group is intended to provide a structured overview of the main actions and priorities in this area.
