The rail freight sector has not yet unlocked its full potential. The fragmentation of the European railway system with its many national regulations and standards that differ from each other, is cause for numerous inefficiencies. Advocating for an accelerated harmonisation to achieve seamless integration and competitiveness of rail freight, David Zindo highlights the importance of initiatives like the DAC to modernise the sector.
