UIP 37th Management Report 1986

In 1986, Western European industrial countries have continued to know a period of economic growth. And this positive development continued in areas that are of importance for the private wagons owners. The key event for Europe’s economy in 1986 was the large drop in the price of oil and in the dollar exchange rate. This has caused a drop in prices and an increase in sales of oil products. The increase of sale and stock of oil products has led also to an improvement in demand for oil transport capacity in most countries of Europe. The demand for tank wagons intended for the carriage of chemical products also reached a satisfactory level, thanks to the good development of the chemical industry. Moreover, this sector has benefited from the increase of external commercial relations. The figure of the transportation of automobiles also was higher, which is due to the strong production of the car industry.

The 1986 Management Report is also available in both French and German.
