UIP 34th Management Report 1983
The deep and stagnant economic recession in Europe has left, in the first place, its traces on the year 1983 by its negative effects on all goods traffic. During the year, several signs let it appear that depression of economic development at its lowest level was, in various sectors, already outdated. For the first time, signs of recovery have been felt – and they are confirmed at the end of the year – suggesting a better economic climate for 1984. In the transport sector, the networks freight rail traffic product was, in 1983, again declining. This observation also concerns the use of private wagons but with different aspects as private wagons were less affected by the decline in question.
The 1983 Management Report is available in both French and German.
