UIP 23rd Management Report 1972

1972 was marked by a variable development for the putting into service of private wagons within UIP. However, in general terms, we observed during 1972 that the production of modern high capacity wagons continued even in a proportion exceeding the real needs of the transport sector, so that subsequent demand for capacity was satisfied. Compared to previous years, the utilisation rate declined slightly not only due to the many new wagons production but also because of the economic stagnation in several countries.
