UIP 13th Management Report 1962

With the publication of the second issue of the Aide-Mémoire which has been applicable since the 1st of January 1962, the period during which UIP efforts were mostly focused on establishing at international level, better and more suitable rules for private wagons regarding requirements of the modern transport economy, was therefore concluded.

Starting with the review of the previous “Fiche UIC 92”, this period marked the participation of UIP in the work for revising the CIM (uniform systems of law which could apply to the carriage of freight in international rail traffic) – in particular annexes RIP and RID – and the establishment of a set of standards regulating the use of private wagons, known as Aide-Mémoire.

In collaboration with the UIC and the OCTI (Central Office for International Carriage by Rail), UIP was able to solve, during this period, most of the regulatory problems.

The 1962 Management Report is available in both German and French.
