PRESS STATEMENT: Swiss Court order pauses Swiss unilateral wagon safety measures

In response to the lawsuit filed by major companies against the Swiss unilateral wagon safety measures enacted by the FOT earlier this year, the Swiss Federal Administrative Court has now issued an order provisionally suspending the measures.

The decision, issued on 24 November, reinforces the need for evidence-based safety measures that apply consistently across Europe, preventing further fragmentation of Europe’s rail area.

UIP welcomes the order in his press statement and underlines the opportunity for all parties to come together, including Switzerland, and focus on finding a common European solution.
