Mobility Magazine: Interview with UIP President on DAC

On the occasion of UIP Keepers’ Summit on 30 May 2024 “Rising to the DAC Challenge”, UIP President David Zindo spoke with FERPRESS – Italian news agency specializing in the world of rail. In the interview they explore what rail freight stands to gain from a systemic digitalisation led by the implementation of DAC, how to finance it and UIP’s role in the ‘rail freight revolution’.

“By investing in the DAC, Member States and EU Institutions are saving on a much bigger bill they inevitably have to foot by continuing to pay the price for emissions, pollution, congestion, state aid etc. (…) The EU has set goals in order to achieve the Green Deal objectives and we all know why we have to do everything we can to get there: to preserve our planet for future generations.”
