JNS updates rail freight safety measures

The JNS task force ‘Accident Gotthard base tunnel ‐ broken wheels’ has published its final report on 19 December 2025. Building on previous risk control measures, the current report presents updated recommendations to strengthen safety consistently across Europe.

UIP has issued a press statement following this publication. We welcome the outcome of the work of the task force as we fully support this European, coordinated approach and are committed to supporting swift and full compliance with the newly adopted JNS recommendations.
