Update of JNS report: Version 5.0

A follow-up to the JNS measures “Accident in the Gotthard base tunnel with focus on broken wheels” from December 2025 has been published today, 10 August,  on the ERA website.

You will find on the website in addition to the JNS final report version 5.0 also

• the updated full impact assessment,
• the working instructions,
• the document to determine the mileage intervals,
• the most recent list of assessed wheel types

This is the finalisation of the work of numerous experts from National Safety Authorities, Representative Bodies and ECM CBs that made a point of addressing all four areas covered by the Swiss national measures adopted in September 2025.
