From Resilience to Robustness: A timeline of UIP’s Journey
The genesis of UIP traces back to 1950, when after decades of recession and war, the need to rebuild a rail freight system “stronger together” became evident. UIP was founded to address the complexity of the international rail freight system and to ensure that the regulatory framework for the sector’s growth would respect the interests of wagon keepers.
With over 75 years of history, UIP managed to evolve into a key European association, aiming not only at uniting freight wagon keepers but also at promoting European rail policies and shaping a competitive and interoperable rail freight system.
