UIP 26th Management Report 1975

A look back on the previous year reveals that most economic sectors experienced a major crisis in 1975.

The implications of this crisis were also felt in the transport of goods by rail. The effects of this situation on the private wagons traffic persisted throughout the year.

Regarding most categories of wagons, we could observe a significant increase in the availability on the market. New wagons were only needed in highly specialised niches of the user industry.

The collaboration with the UIC was especially extensive this year: many problems were analysed with a cooperative spirit.

However, none of these problems required the convening of the IUP/UIC steering group in 1975. On the other hand, a UIC/UIP joint working group was held in November in Florence.
