UIP 40th Management Report 1989

The Presidency of the UIC/UIP joint working group changed. The former chairman Mr. Jean-Paul Bernardet, SNCF, Paris, was replaced by Mr. Claude Friquet, SNCF, Paris. This new assumption of duties will bring no change concerning social and professional relations between UIC and the UIP, Mr. Friquet will continue the objectives set by his predecessor. UIP wishes the new president a full success in the accomplishment of his task and assures full and fair collaboration. UIP once again thanked very warmly Mr. Bernadet for the action he undertook during his mandate and that was unanimously appreciated, both humanly and professionally.

The creation of 5 UIC/UIP mixed subgroups, to which a reference has already been made in the 1988 Management Report, showed itself to be justified and absolutely beneficial. Thanks to a fruitful collaboration with UIC and the use of modern and relevant working methods, the work of these commissions entrusted to experts were able to be carried out with greater efficiency.
